I am an Assistant Professor at the Philosophy Department of Boğaziçi University. Before this I was a post-doc and then instructor at St. Louis University. Earlier, I was an Assistant Professor in the Philosophy Department of Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey.
I received my Ph.D. in Philosophy from Syracuse University in December of 2005.
My main research interests are in metaphysics, especially:
- material constitution
- stuff ontology
- mereology and composition
- analytic process ontology
- the metaphysical implications, if any, of the differences between count- and mass-terms, and progressive vs. perfective verb aspect
My teaching interests (besides metaphysics) are in Ethics, Ancient Philosophy, Early Modern Philosophy, Political Philosophy, and Epistemology. Look around. I have links for my students, links to philosophical resources, my papers, and so on, which you can find via the navigation links above.
